December 9, 2019
Karl John Mueller of Fanny Bay, BC passed away peacefully on December 9, 2019. Karl spent his youth in Powell River, where he and his wife Joan raised their children, and shared their love for family, gardening and square dancing. His early years were spent in the Navy, and then he made a career with Canada Post. A man of many interests, Karl loved gardening, music, writing, woodworking, cooking and spending time with friends and family. He was a history buff, and even competed in a televised trivia contest! Karl lost his loving wife Joan in 1993, and moved to Vancouver Island to be closer to his son Dan.
Karl is survived by his son Dan (Deanna) Mueller, daughter Crystal (Ray) Parent; grandchildren Tanya (Shawn) Cator-Mueller, Trevor (Debbie) Mueller, Elijah (Laura) and Samuel Friesen; great-grandchildren Blair, Melanie, Kelsey, Rachel (Ben) and Curtis Parent, Derian (Autumn) Cator, Brad (Jenna), Tyler and Alanna Mueller; sister Dodie Lloyd; and many, many dear friends, nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Karl on Saturday January 11 from noon - 4 pm at the Bowser Legion (south of Fanny Bay on the Old Island Highway). Please come and share some memories of Karl with a "K".
The family asks that if you wish, rather than flowers, please make a donation in Karl's name to the BC Children's Hospital (dear to Karl's heart), The Canadian Legion or The Canadian Diabetes Association.
