Vennett, Kari, of Courtenay, BC, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on July 5, 2021, at 57 years of age. Kari lived in North Vancouver throughout her childhood, then settled in the Comox Valley where she raised her daughters and established herself as an e pert special education teacher. She leaves behind her two beautiful daughters, Maddi and Charlotte, mom Marg Bennett, sister Lesley (John), brother Scott (Kyra), nieces Ally and Maya, and nephews Cam, Matt, and Lucas. Kari was predeceased by her dad, John Bennett, her "rock" and whom she absolutely adored.
Kari enjoyed her friends, music, art, the ocean, and her crazy dogs over the years. She had an effervescent personality, joyful and warm, chatty and funny, an optimist and a social butterfly.
Her heart was wide open, beautiful, powerful, and overflowing. Kari exuded love. She loved her family and friends whole-heartedly and unconditionally. But where her spirit truly shone was in her immense love for her daughters and for her students.
Maddi and Charlotte were the center of her life, and are wonderful testaments to her love and dedication as a mother. In her girls, you see Kari.
Like so many others in the Bennett family, an innate passion for helping others led Kari into teaching and further into special education. But it was her extraordinary heart, her ability to love so fully, that enabled her to create remarkable connections with each of her students. She accepted and loved her students unconditionally, and saw the goodness and potential in each one. Kari was magic in the classroom, an irreplaceable champion whose loss will have an immeasurable ripple effect. Kari's legacy, however, lives on in each of her students whose lives were forever changed by her. In her students, you see Kari.
Losing Kari is heartbreaking for us all but especially for Maddi and Charlotte. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the generous "Go Fund Me" donations in Memory of Kari Bennett.
Please join us in a celebration of Kari's life at 7pm Tuesday July 27 @ Mark Isfeld School lower field.
