April 13, 1939 - August 14, 2020
With heavy hearts we are sorry to announce the passing of Leona Joyce St. Pierre. She was predeceased by her first husband William Ballan, and second husband Evan St. Pierre. She is survived by her sons, Phil Ballan, Tom (Diane) Shick, and Al (Gail) Ballan; stepchildren, Bernadette (Maurice) Skalicky, Fern (Laurie) St. Pierre, and Robert (Joanne) St. Pierre; her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
With the true stubborn spirit of a pioneer woman, Mom has fought her battle and reluctantly let go to join the many loved and dearly departed friends that have passed before her. As with any life lived to the fullest, Mom had to accept and overcome many challenges, finding her strength in "it is what it is."
Mom will be lovingly remembered as Mom to three and a Momsy to many. Some of her fondest memories and the most special times in her life were spent in Cherry Creek. Her door was always open, as was her heart; "there's always room for one more at the table."
Mom served her apprenticeship for Ukrainian cooking under the watchful eye of Baba and we were all rewarded with bellies full of perogies, cabbage rolls, and meat pies.
Mom was so proud of her grandchildren and the paths they have chosen. She absolutely loved to hear the stories of progress in their lives and was delighted with the addition of great grandchildren.
We would like to thank all those who visited Mom over the years as those visits were the highlights of her days. There will be no service as per her request; in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mom's name to the charity of your choice.
