Joyce Kowaliuk was a shining light and will be missed by all that had the good fortune to know her. She was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on January 3, 1934 and was raised in the small town of Rossland, B.C with her two brothers and one sister. She had fond memories of growing up in Rossland and went on to graduate as a school teacher and began her teaching career in Trail. After meeting Paul her life-long partner and loving husband of 63 years they moved to Duncan, where she raised her two children and continued her teaching career.

She was always proud to meet former students around town and see that they were doing well.

In her younger years, she was active in bowling, curling and loved to go dancing as well as spending time with friends and hosting dinner parties.

On our many trips as a family to Hawaii and in later years sitting by the pool in Palm Springs, she was always surrounded with fun and laughter.

Throughout her life Joyce could always be seen with a smile on her face, laughing having fun and enjoying her life, she always had a positive outlook and always put others happiness before her own. Her generosity, sense of humour and loving way is what made her such a wonderful mother and wife.

She passed on Dec 28, 2018. To those that she leaves behind she would want to make sure that we were all having fun and enjoying each day.

She will always be in our hearts and a shining light in the sky.
