It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother at 93 years of age. Joyce is survived by daughter Patti (Ray) and sons Bob, Ron (Maria), and Greg (Robin); Heather MacLaren; grandchildren Aynsley, Maclaren, Danielle, Brandon, Breanne, Darryl (Juliya), Jeff (Liv), Caitlyn and Brittany; great-grandson Liam and her brother Bud (Fran).
She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon, in 2002.
Joyce was born in Brandon, Manitoba and loved to talk about her home town. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy and served as a WREN until the end of WW II. While serving in Shelbourne, Nova Scotia she met Vernon and they eventually settled in Richmond, BC. Following Vernon's passing Joyce moved to Nanaimo. Together Mom and Dad enjoyed camping, travelling and gatherings of the family.
No formal service by request. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CNIB.
