John William Wright

John William Wright was born in Sarnia, Ontario on May 14, 1952 and passed away in Campbell River, British Columbia on August 18, 2019.
John lived his life his way but everything he did was ultimately for his family. He told corny jokes, sang dirty songs and wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Behind that roughneck facade was a grandpa who loved to dance in the living room, he taught his grandkids how to fish and drive the boat. He was a proud father who gave Michael and Reola everything they ever needed, was always trying to teach them something and bailed them out of trouble many times. A father in law to Moe and Amy, both who he loved like his own kids. A son to Norma who he took care of like a dedicated son should. A brother to Donna and Nancy who endured his teasing ways but also to whom he loved dearly and would do anything for. John worked in the oil patch for over 45 years; starting as a roughneck, working very hard to realize his goal of starting his own oil company. A trusted consultant and friend to many in the patch, he was a true expert in his field. A friend to everyone, always ready to go fishing or hunting, the door was always open at John's house. Most of all he was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Vivian. He had a love for her like no other. They were married for 47 years; she will hold his heart in hers forever. John and Viv were inseparable, they started each morning with coffee and ended each night with a kiss. John was fearless, brave, adventurous, stubborn, and tenacious. He was kind hearted, loving, soft-hearted for children and gracious - he loved everyone and always made sure no one went without.

His father Oran Wright of Colchester, Nova Scotia.
Survived by:
His beautiful wife of 47 years, Vivian; Son, Michael (Amy); Daughter, Reola (Moe). Mother Norma; Sisters Nancy and Donna (Jerome); Grandchildren, Ethan, Alden, Kayden, Lauren and Naomi. Nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

A Viewing and celebration of life will be held at Sutton's Campbell River Funeral Home - 502 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River, BC.
Viewing - Sunday, August 25th at pm
A celebration of John's life - Monday, August 26th at 11 am
Interment- Monday, August 26th at 12:30 pm at Elk Falls Cemetery - 7452-7852 Gold River Hwy, Campbell River, BC
