With sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Dad, Jack, in Trail, BC where he lived for the last 27 years working, and then retiring there.

Jack was an active community member from a young age on the Island. He was a member of the Legion 10 Rock 'n' Roll Club who created the first beach at Westwood Lake. He loved sports, particularly hockey, which he played as teen with the Nanaimo Comets, and later the Oldtimers.

He was instrumental in starting the Nanaimo Clippers Junior A team and served as their first president.

Over the years he was involved in the fishing and logging industries. He was a 50 year IUOE member who spent the last 40 years running cranes in construction around the province.

His last years were spent playing his Keno and enjoying his family time.

Predeceased by his parents Bill and Phyllis Bestwick. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Milne of Trail, Son Gord (Emily), Daughter Lila Perry (Chris), Sisters Gwen Young (Dave), Karen Shaw (Ray) and Donna Bestwick(Gary), Brother Bill Bestwick(Bonnie), Grandchildren Randal, Roland and Chavonne Perry, and family in Trail including 3 Step-children and spouses, 9 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by those whose lives he touched. No service by Jack's request.
