John Willam Beggs

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Willam Beggs of Chemainus, BC. John was born on January 16, 1947, in Lethbridge Alberta and passed on October 21, 2023, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital Victoria with his family at his side.
In his wake John leaves his loving wife Kathleen, Sons Daryl (Laureen), Kevin (Winny), Jody, Christopher (Chantal) and daughter Crystal. Brother Mike (Darlene) and sister Sandra (Iain), Ex-wives Jennifer Gallie and Donna Shillington. Grandchildren Blake, Mitchell, Alix, Payton, Paige, Ashly, and a great-granddaughter Emery. Predeceased by his father Bill and Stella Beggs and Sister Pat Robinson (Brian)
John lived his life to the fullest hunting and fishing and in his spare time, he operated his backhoe with skill and dexterity second to none. He was an executive member of the Chemainus Rod and Gun Club, Chemainus Kinsmen (Past President) and a member of the Chemainus Legion. His love of hunting took him to Pink Mountain in northern BC where he hunted Buffalo and Moose as well as to Canal Flats in southern BC chasing White Tail and Mule deer. His fishing exploits took him to Ucluelet and Brown's Bay and numerous lakes throughout Vancouver Island. John was a stand-up kind of guy and fun to be around. He never hesitated to lend a hand, often dropping what he was doing to help out.
John's celebration of life will be at the Cowichan Exhibition Centre on December 10, 2023, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM.
