October 14, 1959 - July 30, 2021
On Friday, July 30, 2021, John Vissia beloved son and brother passed away into the presence of the Lord and Saviour at the age of 61.
John was born on October 14, 1959, in Port Alberni, BC and spent his early childhood living in Port Alberni. He attended Beaufort School where he enjoyed the daily activities and especially loved the annual Christmas concert. John spent many years at Glendale eventually returning home to Port Alberni where he spent the rest of his life.
John had a great sense of humour. He loved to laugh, play with his balloons, watch his favourite videos on tv, and joke around with Dad.
John was preceded in death by his father, Harry Vissia, nephew, Julian Chretien, and sister in law, Debra Vissia.
He is survived by his mother, Toni Vissia; sister, Audrey (Marcel) Chretien; brothers, Ron, Ken (Cindy), Aaron (Serena), and Ben (Roxane), special friends, Len and Sherry, Shirley Atkinson, George Wilson, and William Wilson; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Celebration to honour John's life will be held at a later date. The family respectfully decline flowers.
