In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we share the peaceful passing of John (Jack) Hartley Cullon.
Jack is predeceased by wife Patricia (Pat), parents Carroll and Elsie Cullon, sister Catherine (Clem) Ingram and brother Arthur. He is survived by daughter Donna (Richard) and son Dan (Deidre), grandchildren Jaime, Elise, Jessica, Nicole, and Russell.
Born in Ladysmith, BC, Jack grew up in Ladysmith, attended Diamond Elementary and Ladysmith Secondary Schools. He married his high school sweetheart "Patty" Roche in 1964 enjoying 48 years together living/working in Port Alberni while raising their family, then travelling during their retirement years. Jack worked for Pacific Towing (Stone Bros) on tugboats in the Alberni inlet for 44 years, experiencing the 1964 tidal wave in the Alberni inlet.
He was also active in youth sports coaching softball and soccer for many years. Jack enjoyed fishing, winning the Times Colonist award for a 10lb trout, hunting (in earlier years), berry picking, farm markets, and Keno. Since 2015, he resided at Lakeside Gardens in Nanaimo where he enjoyed making many new friends, playing crib and bingo, and going to social gatherings. Much loved for his kindness, generosity, stories and sense of humour, Jack will be deeply missed.
