May 3, 1935 - June 20, 2020
It is with heavy hearts we announce that John "Jack" Forsythe passed away with his wife, Roxanne by his side in the Campbell River Regional Hospital on June 20, 2020.
He was born May 03, 1935 in Nanaimo, BC. Jack lived most of his life in Nanaimo. Jack had four children with his first wife, Dona; sons Steven and Scott, and daughters Sandra, and Sherry .
As Jack's life changed direction he had the oppurtunity to become the Nanaimo Fish & Game Caretaker where he lived for 4 years at which time he met Roxanne. In 2008 Jack moved to Campbell River.
Jack was proud of the years he spent as an enforcement officer of the court during the time of the BC Provincial Police and later Deputy Sheriff #39 when the RCMP became the Police. For work, he traveled the district from Mill Bay to just off the North Coast.
He loved the Island, camping, fishing, wood working, politics, socializing and dancing. He belonged to Legion 256 for 14 years where he held Executive Offices. He also belonged to Masons, CB Jamboree, Short wave, he raced pigeons, built and flew gyrocopters, and had many other interests.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, James Stevenson Forsythe and Constance Rebecca Fewkes , his first wife Dona Perry. His eldest son,Steven,hiseldestdaughter, Sandra Tait (Mike) his brother Earl Forsythe (Stella). He leaves behind to mourn, his wife Roxanne Amos, his children; Sherry Cathers (Wilfred), Scott Forsythe, 7 Grandchildren; Chris Cathers (Ember), Jessica Nash (Ted), Virgina Fullmer (Myles) Bryce, Jason, Brian, Michelle and 14 Great Grandchildren, Roxanne's children Kinza, Steven and Brad. His sister-in-law Stella Forsythe, nieces, nephews, many friends and acquaintances in Nanaimo and Campbell River. Jack was creamated and his ashes will go to his special places. Jack wanted us to celabrate his passing, as a party, due to COVID we will do this next spring.
