John Landels passed away peacefully at the age of 90, surrounded by family, at his home in Campbell River. John was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and a friend to many. John was a pillar of strength for his family and will be greatly missed by all.

John is survived by his wife Lillias of 65 years, Son, Craig (Kori), Daughter, Jackie (Gord), Son-in-law, Ken Galka, Grandchildren; Melissa (Peter), Tanya, Birklee, Tierney, Ryan, and Sara (Ryan) and Great-Granddaughters; Elizabeth and Isabelle. He is predeceased by his sister, Betty Porter (Landels), Yvonne Galka (Landels) and Daughter-in-Law, Linda Landels (Green).

John was born to John and Agnes Landels on June 3, 1928 and married his wife Lillias on March 28, 1953. John and Lillias immigrated to Winnipeg, MA, from Scotland, with their two-year-old daughter Yvonne in 1957. They lived there for many years before moving to Campbell River, BC in 1974.

During his life John worked as a police officer in Scotland and Winnipeg and he retired from his job as an ICBC Unit Manager at the age of 64.

John took great joy in spending time with his family, tending to his garden, cooking fish and chips and travelling with the Shriner's RV club.

Through his years John was an active member of many clubs and organizations most notably the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Degree Team (Northern Lights) as well as the Gizeh Temple Shriners where he put in countless hours of volunteer work.

A special thank you to the Campbell River Palliative Care Team and Home Support Nurses. There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
