John was born to Arthur and Dorothy Burrows in Leamington Spa, England, where he was raised with his three sisters, Penelope, Rosemary and Jane. John attended Rossall School in Fleetwood and Harper Adams Agricultural College, Newport.
During the war he was a Lewis Gunner member of the Home Guard, attached to the East Lancashire Regiment.
After marrying Kay (deceased 2011) in 1954 they raised the family on the farm he managed at Tadmarton. In 1972 he gave up farming to become a grocery store proprietor and Postmaster in East Grinstead.
Retirement to South Godstone, provided the opportunity to make many new, very dear and long lasting friends.
In 1994 John and Kay took a huge leap by immigrating to Vancouver, Canada and ultimately becoming Canadian Citizens.
John Burrows, devoted husband to Kay for 57 years and loving father to Simon (Beryl), Timothy (Fiona), Neil (Anne), Ailsa (Graeme) and William (Alex) and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, both in Canada and England.
Dad always provided for his family and was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, keeping connected with family and friends through Facebook.
He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Decker in Mill Bay and the staff at Luther Court, Victoria, for the care afforded to Dad.
