In Loving Memory (1930-2023) ~
Joan passed away in her sleep on March 15th, 2023 at the age of 93 with her son Ken at her side. Joan was born in Cheshire (UK) and moved to Canada in the mid-1950s.
Joanne was predeceased by her parents Ethel and T.C. Warhurst (UK) and her son Robert Chalmers (Ont.).
She will be sadly missed and remembered by her sister Cynthia Hurley; nieces Karen, Audrey, Wendy, and Lynda (England); her brother Terry Warhurst (Ont.); her children Ken Dixon, grand kitty Tassi (Nanaimo), Allan Chalmers (Ont.) and Barb Lee (AB); and grandsons David and Robin Tollan and their families (AB).
Joanne enjoyed gardening and spending time in her yard whenever she could. She was involved with many groups and served 1 or 2 terms on the "Cultural Committee" for the City of Nanaimo.
Joanne was an active member of the Bowen Park Seniors doing exercise 2 times a week until a couple of months before her passing and was a "Life Time Member" of the Nanaimo Theatre Group for over 40+ years!
