It is with heavy hearts and great sadness and sorrow we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Joan Emily Morrison on December 11, 2017.

Joan was the beloved wife and best friend of her husband of 67 years Wilmer (Jack) Morrison who predeceased her on August 24, 2016.

Joan was born in Powell River, BC on February 1, 1932 to Edwin (Ted) and Maud Peacey. In her early life she was a loving, caring, and nurturing stay at home mother.

Later in life Joan started a career in the florist industry and continued to make arrangements and crafts right up until her death. Joan was very talented at these endeavors and sold many of her awesome wood houses made from driftwood. She also wrote a book about her life.

Joan enjoyed snow birding with Jack and they took many trips in their 5th wheel south for the winter. They also loved cruising and took 11 cruises together. Joan was planning another cruise with a friend at the time of her death.

Joan is survived by her sons Rick, Chris, and Dan, daughter Denise, grandchildren, Sherry, Corrie, Sandy, Doug, Adrian, Shaun, Sarah, Chantal, and Brandon, as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

Joan was truly an amazing lady, so kind and giving, compassionate, caring, loving, elegant, and truly loved by all who knew her. She was quite known in the Comox Valley for her flamboyant and outgoing nature and the way she was always so elegantly dressed with either a flower or feather in her hair.

Joan will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Joan's life will be held in the New Year at the Comox Valley Presbyterian Church of which she was a longtime active member.
