On Sunday morning, August 19, 2018 Joan Eleanor Humphrey, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edward Charles (Ted) Humphrey and her daughter, Kim Phillips and son-in-law Donald. Although having one child, Joan was blessed with 10 grandchildren and spouses. Rajpal (Sheila), Heather (Glen), Christopher (Ashley), Julene (Joel), Kevin, Simon, Jonathan (Bailey), Paul (Lily), Lornita and Lorne; plus 13 great grandchildren..
Joan was born in Pinefalls, Manitoba, August 8, 1937, she moved to Port Alberni in 1953 to work at the plywood plant. She met and married Edward in May 12, 1956.
They moved to Bowser in 1995. Joan was very involved in the community being an active member of the Bowser Lion's Club, Old Age Pensioner's Club, the Women's Auxiliary, O.A.P. Carpet Bowling and the LIghthouse Community Flea Market.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life tea on September 8th, 2019 at 1:00 pm., Lighthouse Community Centre, 240 Lions Way, Bowser, V9K 2E2.
