November 10, 1924 - November 26, 2021
Our beloved beautiful mom, Grandma and friend was set free after 97 years of life. Although a private person about her afterlife, we envision her in heaven and/or as an angel who earned her wings. We do know that her life is complete, coming full circle created through love, and returning to nature. She requested Amazing Grace to be played at her gathering.
The caring staff at Cairnsmore Place came to lovingly check in on her during her last weeks and told stories about her special sense of humor. We extend heart-filled gratitude to these kind humans who shared a handful of her winter years and made them richer through building relationships and with a kind respectful connection.
A part of her will live on in her children David, Judy and Linda; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter and more to come. We have had the privilege and now the opportunity to act on the virtues that she taught and lived in her life as we move forward in our own lives. Virtues like self-determination, hard work ethic, thoughtfulness, caring, honest, generous, independent and lifelong learner to name some. We are grateful that this complex, strong matriarch has grounded us in the present with deliberate simplicity and solid virtues as our foundation.
She celebrated and passed on qualities of those who have passed before: mother Daisy (Rhodes) and father Melton, sisters Hazel and Iris, brothers Zane and Harold (Lefty), husband Clarence, son Terry and daughter Penny, grandson Shawn, granddaughter Elise, and life companion Jack McMaster. Her brothers, who live on, Bob and Bruce (Eleanor), nieces, nephews and more, who live far and wide, will carry the pioneer Beam torch forward.
We encourage you to read about Jessie's life and share a story or memory via First Memorial's website, listed below.
Close family and friends will attend a private Celebration of Life and her ashes will be spread in Mill Bay at her request.
