July 18, 1978 - December 28, 2019
Jessie was born in Vancouver on July 18th 1978 and passed away peacefully in Langley early on the morning of December 28th 2019 after a very brief illness.
Jess lived all of her life on Vancouver island moving to Woss when she was just a few months old.
Later she moved to Courtenay to take advantage of the programs offered at the Child Development Centre in Cumberland with Diane Harkins and Joan MacDonald.
She attended Puntledge School with her wonderful care aids Glenda Morgan and Rosemary Webber. From there on to Glacier View School with Margo Sexton, Allan Douglas was the principal and always made time to include Jess in all School activities. It was while with Margo that Jess was really introduced to the community and made so many friends. Friends that in later years always came up to Jess to say hi, when we were out and about the town.
Margo went with Jess when it was time to move on to Vanier and guided her through her high school years and stood beside her at her graduation.
Jessie was one of the first riders at the Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society and was an active participant for over 30 years.
Jessie had many support workers over the years, Bert & Heather, Aimee, Carol, Theresa, Nancy, Joan, Colleen, Lynn, and Julie, to name just a few. She was a welcome participant at the Satori Day Program where she had many friends and very much enjoyed the activities they did there.
We will have a Celebration of Jessie's Life a bit later in the spring when the weather is better and we can celebrate Jessica's life as it should be done. Jessica is survived by her loving parents, Brenda and Terry, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers we would welcome a donation in Jessie's name to the Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society.
Please consider organ donations when making your own final arrangements.
