April 15, 1943 - April 27, 2021
Jeanne Elizabeth Pick died April 27, 2021, at her home in Parksville, British Columbia. Jeanne was born in Fargo, North Dakota on April 15, 1943, to Floy and Raymond Gregerson.
Jeanne graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1961 and attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, for a year before transferring to Kansas State University, from which she graduated with a B.A. in French.
She married Dayton Christensen in December, 1967. From 1945 until 2019, Jeanne spent summers at Wasagaming, Manitoba, in the family cottage on Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park. There, she met Archie Pick, and they married in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1993.
Soon after, they moved to Parksville, but continued to spend summers at Clear Lake, where Archie died in 2003. Jeanne became a Canadian citizen on July 1, 2010.
In addition to Archie, Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Gregerson. She is survived by her sister, Judie Freeland, several nieces and nephews, and their children and grandchildren. Jeanne's annual visits to Colorado to see her family ended with the Covid pandemic.
Jeanne leaves behind many friends, both in the Parksville area and at Clear Lake. The family especially thank Cathey and Tom Chalmers for their loving care.
Jeanne is sorely missed. We know she was escorted over the Rainbow Bridge by Sam, Daisy, Muffin, Sunshine, and Rody. A Zoom memorial service in Colorado is planned, which will then be accessible for her friends and family, far and near.
