In loving memory ~
Jean, a resident of Comox Valley Seniors Village died peacefully at North Island Hospital in Courtenay B.C. on Sunday December 26, 2021. Born in Birmingham, England on January 21, 1927 she emigrated from England to Canada in 1953 with her husband Leslie Alexander Looney. Jean lived in Hamilton, Ontario before moving to the Courtenay B.C. in 2009 to be closer to her son David and his family.
Jean was pre-deceased by her husband Leslie, infant son Michael, sisters Hilda, Betty, and Margaret. She is survived by her son David,
daughter in-law Maureen and grandson Graham, sister Chris, and nieces Debbie, Suzanne, nephew John and their families.
Jean worked at McMaster University in Hamilton for many years in the admissions department, tracking and managing student data. Jean had a keen eye for detail throughout all aspects of her life and remained remarkably independent even in her later years. Her family and friends adored for her quick wit and enviable memory. Jean was one of the longest-term residents of the Comox Valley Seniors Village and enjoyed warm relationships with both residents and staff.
Jean's family would like to thank the staff of the North Island Hospital in the Comox Valley for their compassion and care periodically over the last 2 years. They would like to extend particular thanks to Doctor Marshall, emergency room staff and all the attending staff of unit 3D
who cared for Jean in the days leading up to her passing. Jean will be cremated, and no celebration of life is planned at this time. For those wishing to honor Jean's memory with a donation, consideration of the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation would be appreciated.
