We Never Had A Chance To Say Good Bye
You never had a chance to say I am leaving,
no chance at all to say good bye,
you were gone before we knew it
and only God knew why.
A million times we needed you
a million times I cried for you,
if Love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In Life we loved you dearly,
in Death we love you still,
in my heart you hold a safe secure place,
that no one else could ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you this way
but you did not go alone,
because part of me went with you,
on the that God took you home.
The lessons of Kindness and
Love you taught us
and the good things in Life
you helped us to see,
linger as lasting Gifts,
that comfort and sustain me,
until I journey to that peaceful
place where you are,
and we will be loving and happy
together again.
