Died November 10th, 2017 at Nelson, BC after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Jan was born on September 11th 1943, the middle child of Stan and Lillian Arnott and raised in Aldershot, Hampshire, UK. In June 1965, she emigrated to Canada. In January 1966 she was hired by Air Canada as a flight attendant and retired 29 years later.
Jan married Adrian in 1969 and they moved to BC in 1974. Joanna Rhiannon was born in 1976 and Amy Gwyneth in 1979. Jan and Adrian raised the girls in Maple Ridge, moving to Cobble Hill in 2002.
Jan was a ray of sunshine in our lives. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she found joy in people and was a generous, caring and compassionate person. She loved her garden and her quilting, was an avid reader and a superb hostess. Most of all she loved her family.
Many thanks to the staff at Mountain Lake Seniors Community in Nelson, BC, who cared for her with kindness and consideration in her last two years.
Thanks also to the parishioners of St. John's Anglican Church in Cobble Hill and the many friends who helped her as she struggled with her relentless disease.
Jan leaves Adrian, her husband of 48 years, Joanna of New York and Amy (Lee) of Nelson BC, grandchildren Hazel and Henry, brother Geoffrey of Aldershot UK and other relatives in the UK.
Jan was a Christian all her life. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at the Anglican Church of St. John the Baptist, 3295 Cobble Hill Road, Cobble Hill, BC on December 10th at 2 pm.
