Janet Marie Sperber (nee:Lyons) passed into the presence of her Lord Aug 12, 2019.
Janet was born to Peter and Vera Lyons on Aug 28,1942 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Heinz. She was a loving and cherished mother to daughters Susan (Marc) and Julie (Darrin) and a very special Omi to Alec, Lauren, Tulah and Milo.
Janet is also survived and dearly missed by sister Merle (Ross), sisterin-law Ilse (Horst) and brother-in-law Harry (Gisela,late) and many nieces and nephews.
Janet emigrated to Canada with her family in April 1948; Janet's schooling was in Winnipeg and it is there she entered the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She was a competent and caring nurse. Janet was a wonderful hostess and cook and loved entertaining family and friends. She was active in her church life and found great joy in singing in the choir.
Janet personified love to all that knew her as Paul states in 1st Corinthians 13 the greatest of the spiritual gifts is love.
In 1994 Heinz and Janet retired to Qualicum Beach and spent 23 wonderful years there. In 2017, Heinz and Janet moved to Berwick in Nanaimo,BC where they enjoyed lakeviews and wonderful meals in the dining room. In March 2019 Janet moved into Nanaimo Seniors Village Complex Care; she faced each new health challenge with grace and dignity. It was there that she passed away.
