James William Bostock of Comox BC passed away on Sept 3, 2018. Throughout his long illness he had such strength and fighting spirit. He refused to give up. His willpower and courage was amazing. Jim leaves behind his loving wife Lise, his daughter Angie, son Jamie and two grandchildren that he absolutely adored Madison and Jaidyn. (Papa loved you both very much). He will be sadly missed by his close and beloved sister Jeanette and brother Alan. He is predeceased by his sister Sheila.

Jim was born in Warrington, Lancashire, U.K. in 1943. At a young age he immigrated to Canada and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. Jim served in the military as a Traffic Tech. He was a loadmaster on the Hercules for years and then transferred into the Air Movement Unit where he worked in a number of different areas.

Throughout his career many postings were across Canada as well as overseas to England for a time, which we all enjoyed. His last posting was in Comox where he then worked at HMCS Quadra for many years as a Transport Officer. He absolutely made some fantastic life time friends from the West to the East coast over the years and he always enjoyed getting together with them. Fishing trips with family and friends were always his highlights.

Everyone knew of Jim's avid interest in all sports. He especially enjoyed and participated in rugby, soccer, cricket, darts, broomball, baseball and curling over his lifetime.

Jim also loved the outdoors and fishing. One of his greatest joys over the years was to spend endless hours with Jamie and Angie boat fishing, camping, ice hockey, baseball as well as rugby, field hockey and cricket overseas. You both were always your dads pride and joy.

Thank you to all our family and friends for their help and support. It was and is so appreciated. A big special thanks to our awesome Dr. D. Anderson (What a big help you were for us) and his wonderful staff. Thank you to Dr. Vergitis, Victoria, Dr. Kollmannsberger, Vancouver and Catherine Pankras, RN, Vancouver as well as Dr. Dowe & staff Comox. Thank you to Angel Flight you were always there for Jim when needed. We would also like to thank the staff of the Comox Valley Hospital, Home Care and Hospice Society for taking such good care of him. Special thanks to Vince. Another special thanks and hugs to our "sis" Sally who has just been the biggest support for us both.

Jim, you will be missed by family and friends. "Love you Jims"

There will be no service by request. His ashes will be scattered at his favourite fishing spot. In lieu of flowers, people may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice Society or charity of their choice if they wish.
