In loving memory ~
It's with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved James Leonard Muir, 80, of Parksville, BC.. Jim had a brain hemorrhage on February 1st and follow up imaging revealed late-stage brain cancer. He passed on March 26th, 2023 - 12 days after his diagnosis.
He died peacefully in his sleep, with his family nearby. Jim was deeply loved by his family and friends; he was an exemplary husband and father, and always true and sincere in his friendships. He worked for Stelco, in Hamilton, Ontario, for 32 years and retired at the age of 52. He was blessed to spend 28 years in retirement. Jim and Flo travelled the world, wintered in Arizona or Mexico, and engaged in their favourite pastimes; lawn bowling, bridge, afternoon wine, and socializing with their large network of friends.
Jim was always keen to chat, and genuinely wanted to hear everyone's story. He was quick to smile, and always warm and inviting. He was the best kind of man, generous and thoughtful, who always did the 'right' thing by himself and others. Jim was predeceased by his father, Allastair Muir, mother Olive Muir, and his sister Linda Grunow.
He is survived by his wife, Florence (Flo) Muir, son Jim, daughter Cheryl, his grandchildren Rowan, Madison and Justin, and his great-grandchildren Emberle and Leander.
