In Loving Memory ~
On March 16, 2022, following a heroic 9-month cancer journey, our beloved Jimmie Guerin passed peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. He was surrounded by loved ones and the compassionate, caring Palliative nursing staff, who helped him gently transition. We are most grateful to everyone.
Jim's departure is deeply mourned by countless many, yet none more than his loving wife and best friend Jeanie; his extensive Guerin family in Peterborough and Barrie; his West Coast family and friends of latter years; and his precious 'fur-child' Mani.
In his early years, Jim journeyed West from Peterborough to join the Victoria Shamrocks Senior A Lacrosse Team, then in the late '70's moved to Nanaimo to play Senior A lacrosse for the Nanaimo Timbermen. It was in Nanaimo where he met and later married his wife Jeanie in 1986.
Jim was a very multifaceted man. He was a gifted athlete, a dedicated high school teacher, and an accomplished musician. A deeply caring friend and loved by many whom he influenced, encouraged, and supported. He leaves an imprint that will live on in our hearts & memories forever.
