It is with great sadness that the family of James Inrig "Big Red" announces his passing on Saturday September 22nd at the age of 62, surrounded by his wife of 25 years Charmain and his family he was so proud of.

Jamie was pre-deceased by his father, James and his mother, Hazel.

Jamie is lovingly remembered by his wife Charmain, his children Angela (Travis), James JR "Jimmy" (Jennifer), Christina "Chrissy" and Billy. One of his proudest accomplishments and the apples of his eye were his grandchildren Ally, Jenna, Ryder James, Sienna, Zackery, Lucie and Oliviah.

Jamie leaves behind a very large family including his brothers, Frank (Lou), Rick (Lynn), Kim (Cindy) and his baby sister Tami. Jamie had many cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends he called family including his fishing buddies who he loved to talk with on his daily phone calls.

Jamie was a proud commercial fisherman for over 50 years in our local waters. Jamie made it out for his final sockeye opening this summer making sure everyone was working hard!

Jamie spent thousands of hours as a dedicated volunteer and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #137. Big Red was one of a kind, sharp witted with a sense of humour that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration being held to honour this great man we called Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother and friend on Saturday September 29 at 1:00 pm at the Campbell River Legion.

The Family wishes to send a big Thank You to Dr. Michael Meckin, Jamie's many Victoria Doctor's and the nurses on the 3rd floor of the Campbell River Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jamie's memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
