In Loving Memory (1926-2022) ~
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our Mom, who passed away at The Gardens in Qualicum Beach on July 20, 2022, at the age of 95.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Gail (Ken), Maxine (Pat), Glenda (Ken), five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Max, her parents Annie and Nordale Nelson, her brothers Allan and John and her grandson Doug Heron.
Mom was born in Cumberland and lived her whole life in Union Bay. During their 57 years of married life Isabell and Max enjoyed camping, fishing, and travelling across Canada and abroad.
Mom's life centered around her family and community. She was a member of the CGIT (Merry Hearts) and Pythian Sisters and worked unceasingly for many community groups.
Although her mobility was restricted during her last few years, her mind remained young, and she enjoyed each visit from her family members and friends.
We want to thank the care givers in the New Haven wing at The Gardens in Qualicum for their kindness to "Izzy".
A service celebrating the lives of Isabell and her cousin Mary Kine (McKay) will take place at Union Bay Church on October 1, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the community hall.
