Ireneusz (Irek) Paykart of Campbell River, BC. passed away at the age of 73 at home with his beloved wife Zofia by his side.
Irek was born in Nowy Targ, Poland.
He was a true renaissance man, who was skilled in many fields ranging from cooking to construction. He loved classical music, his daily crossword puzzles and practiced tai chi with devotion. He loved ballroom dancing, and sharing that passion with others, as a teacher of the craft along with his wife Zofia. Upon retiring to Campbell River they created Paykart Ballroom Dance, to spread their love of dance with the community, meeting many locals and forming lasting friendships.
A loving family man, devoted husband, father to Mamert (Janice) and Ala, (Eric), and most importantly a doting grandfather to Neve, with whom he shared a special bond.

He will be loved and missed by those who knew him: his wife, children, family in Poland and friends.
