February 14, 1930 - January 18, 2021
The family of Irene Franciska Daneliuk is saddened to announce her passing on January 18, 2021, just a few weeks shy of her 91st birthday.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband Al, her stepchildren, grandchildren, extended family members, and good friends. She is predeceased by her son Peter and her stepson Ken.
Irene was born in Yugoslavia and moved to Port Alberni in 1956. She started her career as a chef, and after meeting her husband Al, joined him in operating a successful autobody business as well as raising cattle on their farm.
Irene was happiest spending time on their riverside farm working in the gardens and caring for the animals. She also loved to cook gourmet, multicourse meals for family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Glacier View Lodge for the excellent care they provided to Irene over the past 5 years.
