Ian Knox Douglas

May 13, 1929 – February 20, 2021
Predeceased by Joan, his wife of 62 years, Ian leaves his brother Ken and sister in law Pat, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 grand nieces, 3 grand nephews, and one great grand niece to mourn his loss.
Ian played many woodwind musical instruments but mostly the clarinet. He played in the Vancouver Youth Symphony, Kitsilano Boys Band, Vancouver Fire Fighters Band, the Parksville Seaside Band, and others.
Ian was an exceptional athlete, enjoying fastball, but was best known in the soccer world in the Vancouver Pacific Coast League. Ian was chosen many times as the left fullback to represent British Columbia against teams from England, Scotland, Ireland, and others.
Ian ended his work life with the Vancouver Port Corporation in 1990 and lived in Parksville for the past 30 years.
Ian was a gentle man, and a gentleman. We will miss you, big brother.
