The son of Vilhjaimur and Nellie Mary Rose and brother to Jon Dennis Grimsson.
Ian moved to the Victoria area in his early adult years where he met his future wife and love of his life Doris. They were married and were very much in love until her passing in 1988. Ian spent years of his life caring for his sick wife and devoted himself to her care, a true testament to his love for her.
His junk yard business was his second love. He thrived in finding treasures and was proud to show them off.
Ian and Doris were not able to have children of their own, so they treated their nephews and niece like their own. Later having great nieces and a great nephew to add to the family.
Ian lived in the Sidney area until his passing this August 2022.
He will be remembered by his loving family, Brian Grimsson (nephew), Julie Grimsson (great niece), Shari Hof (great niece) and Robert Grimsson (great nephew) and many great, great nieces and nephews as a kind, cheeky, loving man.
