Helen Agnes Madill

Helen Madill passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Her family is so glad to have recently celebrated her and her twin sister's birthday with all the fixings and everyone in attendance.
Born in Mannville, Alberta April, 1934 to Hugh and Joy Stewart. Helen spent most of her formative years in Vermillion, Alberta. All her life she honoured her Scottish heritage.
In the early 1950's she married Keith Hoecherl. They moved to Calgary in 1960 where they raised four beautiful daughters.
In 1972 she remarried. By the 1990's she divorced and relocated to Campbell River, British Columbia where she lived with her partner Karl Schindel until 2008. It was at this time that Helen returned to Calgary where she resided until her passing.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters; Sandra Bergen (Rod), Paige Stevensen and Arelene Lihala (Max), grandchildren; Christina Labbe, Tifni Lund, Clinton Lund, Cathleen Leduc (Jake), Tyler Leduc (Ania) and six great-grandchildren. Helen also leaves behind her sisters Betty and Margaret and their families. She was predeceased by her daughter Jane Labbe , her brothers Joe an Bill and sister Ruth.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Bethany Riverview Care Centre for their comfort and compassion over the last few years.
Memorial donations in Helen Madill's name will be gratefully accepted by The Alzheimer Society of Calgary, www.alzheimercalgary.ca
A Memorial Service will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen's Park Cemetery), on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2 pm.
