May 31, 1934 - May 27, 2021
It is with the deepest sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Harry, age 86, in Victoria on Thursday, May 27th, 2021. Harry was born in Silver Park, Sask. on May 31, 1934 to Henning & Mary Hansen.
Harry lived a full and happy life, with Shirley always by his side. His love of camping meant the family would spend many long weekends at Cowichan Lake and countless hours trout fishing in Dad's little aluminum boat. Every summer Dad made the time for our annual family camping vacations to all parts of the country. Some of his favorite pastimes included watching the Canucks, fishing, walking with his buddies, wood carving, collecting antiques with his best life-long friend Doug, drinking Lucky Lager and chatting with anyone who would listen. Dad always had a story to tell.
If you ever needed anything fixed, big or little, Harry was your guy. He was always willing to help out anyone. Harry was a member of the Shawnigan Lake Legion and the Shawnigan Lake Y.S.A.G.
Harry was a good man. He was very proud of his children and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family meant everything to him.
Harry is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Shirley; his 3 children David (Gayle), Darlene (Ken), and Brian (Lisa); grandchildren Danielle (Dallas), Adrienne (Wilco), Mark, Dane and Brooke; his great grand kids, Casey, Graycen, Laney, Averie and Addison, sister-in-law Elaine, brother-in-law Bob (Sandy) and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters Peggy(Fred), Ketty (Ray), Mary (Jarv/Herb) and most recently his brother Frank.
An intimate family service was held this week at First Memorial 1475 Falaise
