October 29, 2021
On October 29th, 2021 we lost a wonderful man. Harry will be deeply missed by family and friends near and far.
Harry's and his wife Barbara shared a loving marriage of almost 70 years. Also survived by his son Tony (Michele), daughter Linda Sampson (Brian), granddaughters Keri (Chris), Taryn (Brock), Grandson's Brent (Allie), Colin (Kelly) and many great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister June Vaughan and many nieces and nephews and their families from his birthplace of Stockport, England all of whom Harry never lost touch with.
Harry and Barbara made Canada their home in March of 1965 with Tony and Linda. Tsawwassen became their home and in later years Qualicum Beach. Harry lived a life of hard work from his time in Engineering to support his family to his love of Real Estate later on. Living with integrity and adventure was his goal. From his early years cycling around England and France with lifelong friend Allen Newton to running the Boston and London marathons along with many more throughout the world. Hiking the West Coast Trail with good friend Bernie Barton, these made the stories of his life.
Harry and Barbara loved Qualicum and in later years. At 87 he could be found riding his trike along the beautiful trails he loved in the area, talking to many people as he always did.
Harry always made sure he looked after his family even as adults. After 29 years in Qualicum Harry and Barbara moved to the interior to be closer to family. This was a blessing for everyone and he enjoyed many hours spent with his children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harry left us knowing he only wanted us to remember his wonderful life and not to be sad but carry on with love.
