Wedam; Hanna passed away in Port Alberni, BC on Tuesday, March 17, at the age of 92 years.
Predeceased by husband Bruno; Hanna survived is by son Tony (Wendy); granddaughter Tara (Jon); great grandchildren Jacob, Anthony and Dawn; brothers Martin (Loida) and Ernie (Angie); sister Erika (Robert) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Born in Germany, Hanna came to Canada in 1953 then made her way to the Alberni Valley where family was already here in the late 50's. She met Bruno at a dance at the Italian Canadian and the couple were married at Grace Lutheran Church soon after.
Hanna worked for many years in the Valley, first at the Barclay as a waitress then in the Woodward's Cafeteria until she retired in 1986. She was famous for her wonderful milkshakes. Hanna enjoyed camping, reading, traveling, playing cards, being a member of the Red Hats Society and Sunday Martinis. Hanna moved into Echo Village in 2011.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to Echo Village staff and care aids for the care and support of Hanna and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fir Park/Echo Village Foundation, 4411 Wallace St., Port Alberni., BC., V9Y 7Y5.
