Guy Walter Chalmers

December 27, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Guy Walter Chalmers on December 27, 2022, at the age of 70. He passed peacefully in Mexicali, Mexico with his loving wife Glenda at his side, after a courageous battle with various medical conditions.
Born to Kenneth and Lela Chalmers, Guy leaves behind the love of his life Glenda, wife of 23 years. Three siblings; Ron & wife Peggy, Kevin & wife Janice, Leanne & husband Dan Drolet plus, son Adrian & numerous nieces & nephews.
Guy grew up in Coquitlam, B.C. and graduated from Centennial Secondary. In his youth, he enjoyed fishing, baseball, skiing, and motorbiking and a love of cars. Guy, the businessman and entrepreneur, learned the tricks of the furniture and antique trade from his father, Ken. Along with his brother Kevin, he expanded their furniture business to the lower mainland and Alberta. Guy, always on the search for treasures, found the most valuable one in Red Deer, AB, wife Glenda. The two became inseparable, especially with retirement in 2011 with a move to Lantzville on Vancouver Island.
Guy loved to travel with most destinations in hot spots around the globe to bask in the sun. Adventuring to Hawaii, Cuba, the Caribbean, and Mexico, with the Baja being the destination of choice in retirement. Spending time with family was always a priority for Guy as he rarely missed an opportunity to attend a family gathering. A connoisseur of good food, Guy
shared this passion with friends and family, especially seafood, steak oscar and Chinese food. He also shared his love of cards with us all, whether it be oh hell, crib, poker, rummy, sticks or sequence.
On a daily basis, Guy positively impacted the lives of so many people, from the ocean to the prairies. He leaves this world and all of us, a better place for having been in it. He will be missed dearly.
