July 16, 1947 - April 15, 2022
Gregg passed away peacefully at Sunridge Place April 15th, 2022, after many years of living with Parkinson's disease. Despite facing a debilitating disease, Gregg always managed to maintain some of his independence and to find pleasure in the simple things.
Gregg was well read, and soft spoken. He appreciated a good debate. Gregg loved music and art. He was a skilled craftsman who saw the beauty and potential in antiques and brought many pieces back to life over his years in the business.
Gregg is predeceased by his parents Vella and Bonar, and by his brother Randy. Gregg will be missed by his large blended and extended family.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn, his brother Brett (Kathy), his sons Alistair (Saara), Matthew (Jenny), Daniel (Andrea) and David, step-sons Jordan, Matthew (Alyssen) and step-daughter Andrea.
Gregg leaves 7 grandchildren who he delighted in: Gavin, Dylan, Griffin, Fletcher, Casey, Olivia and Eliza. Also remembering Gregg are Susan McKenzie and Susan Spangelo.
Gregg's family is forever grateful for the care and compassion provided to Gregg by the staff at Sunridge Place. The people caring for Gregg day-to-day never lost sight of who Gregg was and worked to find ways to support his autonomy and maintain his dignity.
Gregg's illness created many challenges over the years, and these were made easier to navigate with the skilled, thoughtful, and unwavering support provided by Dr. Tom Rimmer and Dr. Jane Saunders, without whom the last decade of Gregg's life could have been much more difficult.
Family will gather to celebrate Gregg at a later date.
