Gordon Mills

Gordon passed away peacefully on August 14, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born at home in "The Ship in Distress" Pub in Christchurch, England. Gordon emigrated to Canada in 1957, a journey that ended up in Edmonton. He was a professional Firefighter in Edmonton for 25 years, escaping the cold, he moved to Sooke (Oct. 1979) where he was the Deputy Fire Chief for many years.
He will be forever missed by his family, devoted wife Valerie of 61 years, daughter Barbara (Gordon), son Malcolm (Lori),grandchildren Sarah, Andrew, and Stephanie, sisters Diana (Leo) and Zandre (George). He is also survived by three sisters-in-law plus many nieces and nephews in Canada, England and the US. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Doris, brothers John and Malcolm, sisters Joyce, Patricia and Margaret.
A Memorial Services will be held Thursday, August 22, 11 am, at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church located at 1962 Murray Road in Sooke, BC. In lieu
of flowers donation may be made to Sooke Hospice.
