December 3, 2019
The man, the myth, the legend. Gordon shuffled off this mortal coil on December 3, 2019 with dignity and grace. He could split a banana in three without breaking the skin; boil a 4 minute egg in 3 minutes; deny the banks even 1 cent of interest over 85 years; worked for Bell Canada for 30 years and retired at 55 moving to his beloved BC to be near the mountains; able to quote Shakespeare with little to no encouragement; took up lapidary in his 60s; travelled all over the world on multiple "trips of a lifetime"; moved to Canada in his twenties on a bet; perfected the art of packing; served in the Her Majesty's Lifeguards because he liked their uniforms best; appreciated the versatility of duct tape as tool to repair everything from broken furniture, his car and even his foot; loved and rescued multiple dogs, cats and birds; raised 4 pretty great kids; lived a full life and was loved.
Gordon is pre-deceased by his wife Anne and his brother George. Survived by his children Gordon, David, Michael (Laura) and Laura (Mark), his grandchildren Kira and Angus and his sister, Jean Emery.
He would not want us to be sad that he is gone, rather be glad that he was here.
