With profound sadness we announce the passing of Gloria of Courtenay BC, formerly of Victoria BC. Our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all whose life's she touched, passed away on Saturday July 31, 2021. She was in her 87th year.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Jagow, her parents Charles and Lillian Bennett and her siblings; Ray Bennet and June West. She is survived by her sister Lynda Everett, three sons; Daryl (Marilyn), Wayne (Laura) and Doug (Linda). As well as grandchildren; Ashley, Nadine, Dannica, Tessa and great grandchildren; Kailey, Sylas, Hayden, Dallan, Abel, Tucker, Aubrey and others.
Gloria was born in Victoria BC on August 16, 1933. She graduated from Victoria High School in 1952 and married in 1957. She worked for 17 years as a teachers aid at Cumberland Elementary and Courtenay Elementary, and her passion of working with children shone through in her career as well, as her family life. Gloria was a member and volunteer of the Elks Royal Purple, a group dedicated to supporting their community. She will be remembered by her bright smile and kind heart, making an impression with everyone that crossed her path.
We wish to thank the medical care staff at North Island Hospital and Cumberland Lodge. Gloria's ashes will be placed in a niche at the Sands Funeral Chapel in Nanaimo. No formal funeral service by her request. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
