Gloria Golda Duane Chittick

June 13, 1926 – March 29, 2021
Gloria, ‘Goldie’ to extended family and friends and ‘Marmie’ to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, passed away peacefully with her three children by her side. Gloria, born in Carrot River SK, was predeceased by her parents: Charles and Elva Peterson and two brothers: Pete and Gar.
Her childhood was in Northern MB, but she lived her life in AB, SK and BC. Gloria married Bill Milligan (Calgary) after WWII and was a loving, devoted wife and mother to their three children: Randi, Bill and Janis.
She later wed Jack Vaughan (Vancouver) and Ron Chittick (Calgary), all predeceased.
Gloria served in Big Sisters Association, YWCA, Kappa Gamma Club, Activettes, co-founded Little Britches Day Care Centre, and piloted Confederation Park Seniors Centre in Calgary.
Remembered for her love of nature, her children and grandchildren enjoyed gardening, camping trips, the beach exploring tidal pools, swimming and snorkelling with Marmie. She loved playing games with family, bridge with friends, and performing Square & Round Dancing in Vancouver.
From 2005 on, she lived close to family on Vancouver Island and this past 7 years, on trips to South Africa, she achieved a lifelong dream of seeing wild African animals on multiple safaris.
Gloria is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her three children: Randi, Bill (Queenie) and Janis (Russ), her five granddaughters: Megan (Rob), Shelley, Jessica (Louis-Charles), Morgan (Malim), and Fraser, as well as her five great grandchildren: Dawson, Kaela, Brody, Payton and Riley.
Gloria was charitable throughout her life and in lieu of flowers wished that Family and Friends consider a donation to World Vision to protect the health and welfare of children at risk: https://worldvisioncan.akaraisin.com/helpexploitedchildrenGC/GloriaChittickMemorialFund
