Glen Charles Thulin

October 11, 1950 - January 6, 2020
It is with great sadness in our hearts that we say goodbye to Glen, who has left us for a new journey at the age of 69.
Predeceased by his Dad and Mom, Carl (Tubby) and Florence Thulin, and brother Al. Glen was loved and will be greatly missed by his children, Brad (Levannah), Melissa (Brandon), and Jessica. His grand-children, who he dearly adored, Avery, Beckett, Rylee, and Kiera; his wife Linda, his younger brothers Gary (Darnell) and Dean (D'Arcy), nieces and nephews, his dear friend Lorraine, his extended family, and many great friends.
Glen was born and raised in Campbell River. He was part of Pioneer Home Hardware Building Centre for his entire working career. During this time, he worked alongside his grandparents, dad, two younger brothers, three children, and nieces, until he retired at the end of 2012.
In earlier years, Glen was involved with the CR Volunteer Fire Department and participated in many community events and activities.
Glen loved fishing, hunting, and travelling. He also enjoyed playing various sports such as baseball, fastball, football, and curling. Golf was another favorite pastime that he played with his mom, brothers, son and many friends. He also valued participating in various community charity golf tournaments, especially with the Special Olympic athletes.
Most of all, Glen took great pleasure and pride in his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, extended family and close friends sharing his dry humor, magnified fishing and hunting stories, and memories of growing up.
Our family wishes to thank all the staff at the Campbell River Hospital who cared for Glen with such kindness.
A Celebration of Life to remember Glen will be held March 12 at 2 pm at the Maritime Heritage Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Glens memory to the Campbell River Special Olympics or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
