Born in Kollum, Netherlands, Gilbert passed away at the West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni, BC at the age of 96. He was granted his wish to be with his Lord.
Gilbert is predeceased by loving wife Gaye; survived by his children Grace (Pete), Ed (Barb), Randy and Leta (Glenn); grandchildren Tanya (Ty), Bruce (Caitlin), David (April), Mariah, Anna (Ross), and Alec; great grandchildren Autumn, Landon and Ava.
Burial has taken place in Alberni Valley Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to West Coast General Hospital as well as Home and Community Care - especially Darla and Sarah for their support and the exceptional care they took with their father.
