February 2, 2021
On Tuesday February 2, 2021 my darling hubby Gerry Lanouette left us and walked to the gates of heaven. Our son Tim would have been saying "what took you so long?". What Joy! But he took my heart and soul with him.
He was the love of my life, my handsome man, my hero and my "White Knight". And amazingly he loved me unconditionally.
He was father to Jeff and Pa to our daughter-in-law Andrea. Gramps to eight grandkids; Shane, Justin, Courtney, Chase, Caitee, Corey, Brad and Jessica. Great Grandpa to Wesley. Brother to Lucy. Brother-in-law to Ed and Jocelyne. Uncle to many nieces and nephews and a friend to all.
We are a close knit family and we will all miss him, his warmth, his kindness, his generosity, his spirit of adventure, the huge infectious smile, the twinkle in his eyes, his laughter, his quick wit and his devilish sense of humour. In short he was the best and he gave his best to all.
We were blessed to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary and renew our wedding vows last August. My romantic man wanted to do so!
Gerry died just 10 days before his 89th birthday but he was too sick to hold on for his party. He was tired and weary. He so needed to take this final journey. God finally called him home and we had to let him go.
Rest in peace my love.
Cremation has taken place. His remains will stay at home waiting for me to join him sometime down the road, then we will be interred together. We look forward to celebrating Gerry's life once COVID restrictions are lifted and we are allowed to gather again.
