April 7, 1956 - April 26, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Gerald (Jerry) Button.

Jerry is survived by his brother Tom and his sisters Shae (Richard) and Lauren.

He was predeceased by his father A. R. W. (Roy) Button (1989) and his mother Frances Roberge (2020).

Jerry is best remembered for "playing a mean set of drums" and for his involvement in the Comox Valley music scene during the 1970's. Jerry was privileged to add his talent to a number of musical groups and local musicians during those years such as: Gord Krueger; Tim Kennelly (TK & the Citizens); KOMOX; Jim Papp; Gordie Antel and others.

Wanderlust took Jerry to the USA where he was involved with musical groups in California for a period of time before his next journey took him to Toronto in the late 1980's and Calgary in the 1990's where he worked in the manufacturing industry.

Jerry continued his nomadic lifestyle after moving back to BC and moved both up and down Vancouver Island before settling once again in the Comox Valley area. Jerry re-connected with friends from elementary and high school and enjoyed attending that "Blast from the Past" - the infamous Robb Road School Reunion that was held in 2011.

Jerry's family would like to thank both the staff and residents of The Junction for their friendship and support to our brother while he was a resident. Donations in Jerry's memory can be made to the John Howard Society of North Island 1455 Cliffe Avenue Courtenay, BC

The family would like to say a special thank you to Elizabeth Taylor at Piercy's Mt. Washington Funeral Home for the compassionate care and support given to our family during a difficult time.
