Gerald "Gerry" Flowers

July 7, 2018

We are saddened to announce the passing away of Gerald after contracting liver cancer this spring and swiftly weakening. He fought the good fight but the odds were too great.

He leaves behind his loving children, David of Victoria, Shelley of Grande Cache, Alberta, Ken of Edmonton, Ross of Duncan and Debbie of Crofton.

His sister Joyce of Victoria and brother David of West Vancouver, having enjoyed his humour and warm friendship for over three-quarters of a century, will miss him terribly.

Gerry was a long-term resident of Duncan and area. He first moved to the Cowichan Valley in 1957 at age 22 to do repair work on the world-famous railway trestle across the Koksilah River. He then bought his first house on Trunk Road. Gerry Flowers will be remembered as an active outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and travelling in his boat up and down the coast.

Celebration of life to be held at The Oak and Carriage Pub, 3287 Cowichan Lake Rd. on the Patio with sandwiches and refreshments available, on August 5th, 1 pm to 4 pm. Donations in honour of Gerry could be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
