March 9, 1939 - September 10, 2022
In loving memory ~
Gerald Fraser Kippen,(Gerry) 83 passed away peacefully Saturday, September 10, 2022 with his children by his side.
He was predeceased a mere three weeks by his mother Eileen, his wife Dyvonna (1982) and by his father Don (1954).
He is survived by his children Kim (Jim) and Jeff, his sister and childhood best friend Donna, grandchildren Ben and Justin (Sarah) and several grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He moved his family from Edmonton to the Comox Valley in 1971 and purchased a small acreage in 1972. In 1983 he moved to Ucluelet where he worked and made several friends, residing there until 2020. He then moved back to Courtenay where he joyfully leisured his days back on his original property.
He exceeded in school and his love for math, numbers and meticulous paperwork organization led him to become a CGA, a career which he continued until he was 81.
He was always remembered as being the life of the party, quick witted and whose story telling vocabulary was often exceeded only by the animated and entertaining use of hand gestures.
He never complained or sought attention and thus did not wish for a service or such "fuss". Better to just preserve your best memories of an observational humorist who could make you laugh at almost anything, or quiet man who could say quite a lot.
