Born Oct, 1934 at Elk Point, Alberta, passed away suddenly Oct 3, 2018 in Courtenay B.C.

George was predeceased by his parents Trygve and Wilma Kjenner and stepdaughter Deb Hatch (Bev Kjenner). He leaves behind to mourn his passing, wife of 25 years, Nancy Dyke, son Lonnie; daughters Kris, Lynn and Janice; grandchildren Melvin, Denver, Nathan, John, Drew (Marie), Robbie (Vikki), Brandon (Amanda) and Jordon (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Zander, Brooklyn, Avalee and Aiden; George's sisters Doreen (Fritz), Carol (Reg) and Lois, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

George grew up in rural Alberta. George's passion in his youth was sports. He played semi-pro leagues in the prairies. George moved to Campbell River in 1964, took employment with an auto parts company which led him to forming North Island Lock Ltd. which started as a locksmith business moving into specializing in security with the R.C.M.P., Justice Institute, Domcor, and Excel training recruits in the area of Security.

His leisure hours continued with passion for sports, coaching ball, playing golf and the old timer's hockey league. Later in life George picked up his previous passion for music to establish a band that played Country, Country Gospel, and Old Time Rock and Roll.

George touched many lives in his life, was a humble man always doing things for others expecting nothing in return.

He lived with a strong faith, remembered fondly by his wife Nancy and friends, he will be deeply missed.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Nov 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Northgate Church, 1640 Burgess Rd Courtenay.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Northgate kitchen to feed the Community.
