Maurice Eugene Bellavance was born October 12, 1942 in Prince George, BC.

He is predeceased by his Mother Rosalie (Garat) and his Father Adelard.

George is survived by, and will be greatly missed by his 2 children Dennis (Karen) and Tara Idiens (Craig) and his grandchildren Scotia, Cassidy, Bryce and Joel. His brothers and sisters Alice, Marie, Jean, Rose, Donna, Chuck, and Brian and their families.

He was incredibly proud of his family. He would wait for the kids' hockey game scores, to hear if they won and how many points they got. Seeing their names in the paper was always a highlight.

George began his journey as a welder at Nanaimo Vocational Training School in 1962, he left the course early to start his job at Madills. He was often described as the best welder/fabricator on the coast. Among many things, George will be remembered as an innovator developing and improving things like hydraulic thumbs for excavators, super snorkels for log loaders, skidder mounted light towers for night logging (in the early 1970's).

He worked hard and played hard. He was known far and wide, and had great friends who enjoyed his sense of humor and quick wit.

He loved cars. And trucks, and motor cycles. He always had projects on the go. His latest was his beloved trike, which he called his last ride...

Please join us for George's Celebration of Life Saturday, April 27 1 pm at The Eagles 1999 14th Ave, Campbell River, BC.
